A wrongful death case is filed when the wrongful or negligent conduct of a person or corporation causes the death of another person. In contrast to a personal injury case where the injured person is the named plaintiff, a wrongful death lawsuit is brought by a personal representative on behalf of the estate of the deceased person against the persons or entities responsible for the victim’s death. Monetary damages awarded in a wrongful death case are generally designed to compensate the family members of the deceased individual for their loss.
Mr. Saletta has a long history of successfully representing families who have suffered the profound loss of a family member due to the wrongful conduct of another. Results obtained for these families include $12.5 million for the death of a 10-year-old boy and a verdict of $5.5 million for the death of a young mother. For a listing of some of his other results in wrongful death cases, see Victories.
