A confidential

Settlement Reached In Skin Cancer Case
A
confidential settlement has been reached
with an OB/GYN in a case involving a 37
year old wife and mother of two children
who was diagnosed with metastatic
melanoma, a deadly form of skin cancer.
Her melanoma was diagnosed three and a
half years after her OB/GYN removed a
suspicious mole from her breast but
failed to have the mole biopsied.
According to her attorney, John M.
Saletta, had this mole been sent for
biopsy, as it should have been, it would
have revealed a primary melanoma which
would have had a greater than 90% chance
of being successfully treated.
Doctor
Settles Case For Policy Limits During
Medical Malpractice Trial
Mr.
Saletta recently obtained a $1,000,000
settlement for an 80 year old woman who
suffered an above knee amputation due to

Prior to trial, the insurance company
for the defendant physician refused to
offer any money to settle her claim.
The case proceeded to trial, and the day
before closing arguments, the insurance
company settled the case for the
doctor’s $1,000,000 policy limits.
